Naming of your child is an intense emotional experience. You spend countless evenings with your wife discussing baby names, you also discuss with your family and friends and finally arrive at “your” name. There is no culture in the world where there is not a ritual around a newborn baby name. The naming ceremony is upheld as an important gesture in every religion because that will be the identity of the new human being who was just born on the face of the earth.
There are some emotions that are universal – it traverses across religion, caste, creed and any barrier that human beings have known to be.
So, let’s get it clear. The process of giving the name to a baby has got nothing to do with the baby — it has got everything to do with the elders. It’s the elders who name the baby and its the parents who ratify it. The same is followed is every religion and custom barring a few exceptions where a particular religious head or a relative holds the exclusive right of naming the baby and parents just have to accept.
The baby has no absolutely no role in it. The baby name is chosen according to religion, tradition and family names — there are no exceptions of this around the world.
When we talk about the name of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s baby son Taimur Ali Khan, we are only talking about the name and the whole set of emotions that led to it. We are are wondering what let Saif and Kareena zero in on the name and how did he finally accept it as a name for his baby? We have criticised him and a lot of us were falsely told that we are trying to attack a newborn baby as a defence. That’s just a lame excuse as everyone is blessing the baby. But nobody is blessing Saif Ali Khan because by now the whole of Bollywood knows that he chose the name for his newborn son.
But what let Saif keep such a cruel name for his baby?
For that we have to understand what Saif Ali Khan is.
He used to look feminine during his early years in Bollywood but he was turned out to be one of the most aggressive and violent actors in Bollywood. He has – over the past been accused of violence – numerous times. The allegations against him in the past included poaching of black bucks, beating journalists to breaking the nose of a businessman inside a five star hotel. HERE is a complete list of his brawls and fights, you can check it out yourself.
There are certain things that the general public doesn’t know about Saif Ali Khan. He is fighting a case against all his relatives to oust them from his Bhopal property. It is because Saif Ali Khan and his mother want to sell the property off. HERE is the report.
This is not all, in violation of Article 18 of the Indian Constitution, Saif Ali Khan continues to use the title Nawab for his name. He used the title privately because he is not permitted to use it on official papers. Nevertheless it is a crime and clear violation of the Constitution of the country. Not only that, he organised a crowning ceremony for himself to declare himself as a Nawab. HERE is the evidence.
There is something more that we don’t know about him. Senior Pataudi had appointed Saba Ali Khan (Saif’s sister) to look after his estate and properties. HERE is the report of the same which also states that Saba is the only woman in the country to hold the position. All that changed with Saif Ali Khan, who has gone against his father’s wishes and decided to call the shots regarding the properties, according to sources. This is against his own father’s wishes. A lot of people in the industry also say that Saif Ali Khan is a control freak.
If this is the personality of Saif, there is another thing to him that we don’t know about — he has a huge library in his house which is filled with books from all over the world including Islamic texts. Saif Ali Khan loves history and he has said in numerous interviews that he reads a lot of books on History.
It is quite possible that when Saif Ali Khan will try to choose a name for his baby, he wouldn’t consider consulting anybody else and would choose a personality who is known to be aggressive, violent and tainted in history for being a murderer.
So Saif Ali Khan chose a personality who beheaded his own mother at the age of 16, jailed his father, started his life as a thief and credited with killing 17 million people in central Asia, mostly Hindus and Christians. This was about 5% of the world’s population at that time.
When he invaded Delhi in 1398 at the age of 62, he slaughtered 100,000 Hindus in a single night. This is a world record of the single biggest genocide organised by a single man in the history of mankind which stands unbroken even today. Timur was not kind to Christians either, the very next year he invaded Baghdad and ordered his soldiers to bring the head of two infidels each. At that time, Baghdad was populated by the Christians who were wiped out due to the assault.
There are numerous legends about Taimur but everyone knows about the “Curse of Taimur”. In his coffin it is inscribed that “Whoever shall Disturb Me Shall unleash a murderer deadlier than me”.
“Within two days of the Tomb being opened Nazi Germany under the command of Adolf Hitler invaded Soviet Union (now Russia) on June 22, 1941. This was exactly two days after Tamerlane’s tomb was opened and the remains of Timur were sent to Moscow. This invasion came without any formal declaration of war and Hitler named it as Operation Barbarossa” (Source). You can read about it on Wikipedia or HERE.
Interestingly, Taimur was succeeded by his youngest son as all of them died out. His name was Shah Rukh.
When you deliberately choose a name like that, that speaks a lot about yourself, Mr Saif Ali Khan not the baby. May the baby become a big Bollywood star and live for a hundred years but he will remember all his life that you chose to name your son after the greatest murderer in the history of mankind.
If you are looking for examples, HERE is what happened to the father who named his son Hitler (apparently created by the curse of Taimur).
If you are still wondering if that is in accordance with Islam, it is not. In fact, keeping a name like Taimur is unIslamic. Read HERE an article by reputed Islamic scholar Tarek Fatah who talks about what the name means to India and why no one in India should keep a name like that.
The truth that nobody is saying is that, Saif has hurt all his Hindu fans and I wonder how many will like him from today onwards.
